The Art of Healing Through the Awareness of the Body and Its Energy

In 2003, I graduated from the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin, Texas, majoring in Zen Shiatsu Asian Bodywork Therapy. Ever since, I've been a Certified Practitioner and a professional member of the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia - AOBTA.

I am a specialist in Voice Pathologies and Psychomotricity (Body-Mind Therapy), with a Bachelor of Science and Post-Baccalaureate degree in Speech Pathology from Estácio de Sá University in Rio de Janeiro. For seven years, I practiced as a Speech Pathologist in a public school and in my own private practice in Brazil.

Around this time, I developed strong beliefs regarding the importance of having the patient involved in the healing process. I learned that in return, this involvement would allow the patient to connect with his/her feelings and  to recognize the problem, which tremendously improves the dynamic and the quality of therapy.

My belief in patient involvement and passion for the holistic approach in healing, led me to the study of Zen Shiatsu after I arrived in the United States, in 1994.
